Silent Screams is a compelling story of courage, resistance and self-sacrifice. Set in Nyasaland in 1917, Joseph (Larry Olubamiwo), a local Church Minister is furious at the oppression on the plantations and the forced conscription of local men to fight a European war.  When his appeals to the Governor-General (Paul DuBois) fail, Joseph plans a revolution. His life is in danger.

“Gave me a glimpse into a true unknown story. Well thought out and put together story. Well done!”

After a successful show at the Pump House Theatre, Watford, Silent Screams is back this time on a London stage. Using a blend of audience participation, African drumming, and physical theatre, the audience are taken on a journey based on a true story, less told. Silent Screams commemorates the lives of African men who fought The Great War (The Forgotten Heroes), but also explores the tragic impact on the local community.

“Very engaging play with great performances and the live African drum was a great touch which added to the atmosphere.”

“Absolutely a brilliant thought provoking play. Very good performance. It really pulled at the heart strings of the black soldiers who were up against the evil oppressions. Well done! Congratulations.”
